Canada team training

On the way back from Australia we spent time with Hawley in California. Ginny is looking fantastic and going as good as ever. I have high hopes for Hawley as far as her individual placing is concern, I think this is a real good opportunity for her and without wanting to put too much pressure on her, she has been around all the major events and all we need to do is get a super test out of her. I feel very confident she can be up there and challenge the rest of the world.

So then after California I went to Canada and we had training on the Thursday morning with Selena. And again her horse Foxwood High is also going very well and I was very pleased with the sessions that we had.

Jess was there as well with both Little Romance and Pavarotti. A Little Romance is going superbly and she just gets better and better with everything we do. Pavarotti as well was looking good, we worked a lot on the flying changes, she is planning on taking him to Burghley. It is good to see the riders are confident and making plans to go and hit the top competitions now.

I didn’t get to see Peter but I saw him before Bromont. He’s planning to go over and compete at Hartpury CIC3*** and I will be there at that point.

We are just looking at experimenting with some last minute stuff at Great Meadows. We are not expecting to do anything great, it is a promotion event for the American team and we have just been lucky to get to join in. Only two riders will be there Hawley is going to Rebecca Farms and Peter is travelling to get to Hartpury so just Jess and Selena. We are taking a different approach to what has been done in the past, it is more rider friendly. I am allowing each rider to have input into their final stages of preparation. So that they all have their own individual plans. The team plan is to fit in with the individual plan, we are not disjointed we are making it custom to each individual horse/rider.
