The end of September saw the team head to Aiken, South Carolina to compete in a new event on the circuit, Stable View Farm. With it’s amazing facilities and $1000 on offer for 1st prize in the Preliminary section, the event was well supported with all sections full capacity. We had all four of our horses entered in the Preliminary including FE Bowman, FE Money Made, FE Black Jack and new mare FE Ophelia. This was the first Preliminary for all the horses except FE Bowman. Dressage was hotly contested between all the Fredericks Equestrian horses to see who would be the leader on Day One and crowned Dressage King or Queen of the Barn. FE Ophelia was the first to go of the team and put the pressure on the boys, laying down a score of 29.1. FE Money Made did a lovely test for a 5 year old in only his 3rd ever event to score a 30.5. FE Bowman jumped into the lead momentarily with a great score of 28.6 but could not hold off Dressage King, FE Black Jack who was the last to go with the leading score of 26.8.
Cross Country began immediately after the Dressage with all four horses having great rides around a substantial Preliminary track to finish all clear inside the time and be heading into Show Jumping the next day in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th. Show Jumping proved influential on the final day with a tight track that required forward riding to avoid time faults. FE Bowman showed his experience at this level finishing on his dressage score to win the Preliminary Section with FE Ophelia picking up just 1 time fault to finish 3rd.
It was a great event and the owners and organizers of Stable View Farm should be congratulated on the facility and event they are creating for Event Riders.
