Great Weekend at Rocking Horse for Fredericks Equestrian

The Fredericks Equestrian team had a great time last weekend competing at Rocking Horse Fall Horse Trials. With 12 horses from the barn competing on Saturday and Sunday it was a busy couple of days but thanks to the hard work and extreme organization from Maddie and her team everything ran smoothly and all the horses were able to compete at their best.

Clayton and his team of 5 horses had a near perfect weekend with 5 good dressage tests, 5 clear rounds SJ and 5 clear rounds XC with just FE Ophelia picking up a couple of time faults on the Intermediate XC. ” I couldn’t be happier with the horses this weekend. FE Bowman was great in all 3 phases and felt fit and ready for his 3*** debut at the Jockey Club at the end of this month, FE Ophelia was foot perfect all weekend. She competes next at the Ocala Jockey Club CCI1* with the French Individual Silver Medalist, Astier Nicolas so I was conscious of giving her a good run in preparation for this, which perhaps cost her the win this weekend but hopefully I have her ready for Astier to win the 1* in the next couple of weeks. FE Chardonnay made it 2 wins out of 2 competitions in the US finishing on his dressage score in the Preliminary/Training and FE Clueso and FE Black Ice finished on their dressage scores in the Training to finish 1st and 2nd. The young sale horses are an exciting addition to the team. They had their first competion a few weeks ago at Ocala and went very well. This weekend at Rocking Horse they felt even better and are improving and getting stronger all the time. They are lovely horses to ride and most importantly nice horses to look after.” – Clayton

The new addition to the team, Colleen Loach had a successful show competing Fredericks Equestrian horses,  FE Subiaco in the Preliminary to a 2nd Place and FE Always In Time in the Training to 6th Place. Colleen has recently started with Fredericks Equestrian in the role of Assistant Trainer and will helping Clayton compete the team of Fredericks Equestrian sale horses. FE Subiaco and Colleen are now aiming for the CCI1* at the Ocala Jockey Club.

Fredericks Equestrian student, Annick Niemuller is also preparing for the Jockey Club CCI1* with FE Black Jack and had a great final preparation this weekend finishing 5th in the Preliminary Rider. Working student Maya Wentx had a super XC round in the Jr Training Rider to finish 6th.

The team is now looking forward to a big week over Thanksgiving at the Ocala Jockey Club International!!!
